Lessons from the Sky
Poem that highlights our purpose of existence is to feel it all and not get lost in the illusions around us. Like the Sky is never lost among the clouds, thunder, lightning, so aren't we.
In these difficult times, something is happening all the time. We are amidst a deep storm and it's easy to forget what is our true nature. It's hard to remember what is normal and what is our purpose. Through this poem I’d like to highlight that just like the Sky doesn’t lose it’s nature when the clouds, thunder and lightning strike, so don’t we. We, children of the sky, are a force of nature and are born to love and laugh, live and let live.

Many times when I feel small,
working through problems I can’t solve…
I look up through the corner of my eye
And I see this expansive deep blue sky.
Where the Sun shines bright,
who protects us like a knight.
The clouds roll in beautiful patterns…
Like ants, rabbits, dinosaurs even.
Even on a dark, lonely night
with the soothing moonlight,
along with gazillion twinkling stars
show up blazing bright shooting stars…
Here the day is as rich
as wonderful is the night
Yet even this strong knight
sometimes forgoes it’s might
When dark clouds cover the blue sky,
When the thunder rumbles
And the lightning strikes
Did you ever wonder - why?
It gives way and pours it’s heart out
Soaking me full, letting the seeds sprout.
Colorful beautiful rainbows emerge
In the day, and also in the night
when the moon is bright
and the conditions right
I see it though my eye
Silver sliver of the strong silent semi
I realize then
the point of being
is to not hold
but to feel it all
to express it all
to dive right in,
not scared of the fall.
To cry in agony
Till the eyes are blurry
To shout those lungs out
when it’s an unfair knockout
To never pick silence
In the wake of violence
To use your strength
And your spine’s length
Fight for the causes that are right
With all your might, like a knight.
To jump up high
And reach for the sky
To laugh out loud
Until tears roll out
To celebrate, cheer, clap
when the deep rooted structures snap!
